Undergraduate opportunities

You don’t have to wait until you’re about to graduate to start your leadership journey with us. We have a number of undergraduate opportunities that will help you to learn about yourself, engage with our work and develop your employability and leadership potential.

Taster Programme

Our Taster Programme is designed specifically for students in their early years of study.

This unique one-day opportunity will enable you to engage with our work and start developing the skills and behaviours needed to enhance your employability. Find out more.

Joe-Greenman

“Even if you don’t want to go into teaching I wouldn’t let that stop you from applying. I think the skills you learn can be applied to any profession, but you never know, like me you might find out that teaching would be something you’d really enjoy.”

Joe Greenman, Taster Participant, 2015

Brand Manager Programme

Brand Managers are ambitious, confident and committed students who support our Graduate Recruitment Officers on campus.

This exciting and varied opportunity enables you to build on your employability skills by promoting Teach First, driving attendance at our events and, ultimately, increasing applications for our Leadership Development Programme (LDP) and undergraduate opportunities. Find out more.

Joanna-Matashi

“It’s my job to raise awareness of Teach First, our vision and the programmes we offer. I do that by collaborating with relevant societies on campus and by hosting events, having cake sales – whatever I can think of to promote the brand in an appropriate way.”

Joanna Matashi, Brand Manager, 2014/15

Insight Programme

Our award winning, two-week Insight Programme is your chance to get some hands-on experience of our Leadership Development Programme (LDP).

The programme will help you to develop valuable skills and to road test them in a challenging and supportive environment as you work with young people studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects. Find out more.

Musibau-Kaffo

“You discover what it will be like to actually teach in school and the additional training and development opportunities the LDP offers you. I loved it and it really cemented my interest in joining the LDP.”

Musibau Kaffo, Insight Participant, 2013

Teach First Societies

Teach First societies are student-led groups committed to addressing the issue of educational inequality.

There are Teach First societies at universities all around the UK that you can join, or you can start a new society where one doesn’t already exist. Each of our student societies is different with aims and objectives determined by its student members. Find out more.

Gian-Marco-DAndrea

“I’ve really benefited from launching the society. It’s developed my organisational skills, extended my network and it’s been hugely rewarding to do something that’s so important.”

Gian-Marco D’Andrea, Founding President of Kings College London Teach First Society
