An introduction to Teach First

Since 2003, we’ve been improving the life chances and choices for children experiencing poverty. We train talented teachers and equip school leaders working in some of the poorest areas of the country – to give children with the fewest opportunities access to a great education.

We’re the largest teacher training provider in England, recruiting between 1400-1750 trainee teachers every year. Often, 40-45% are experienced hires. These are individuals coming to us from other careers or already working in education.

You’ll learn about how our Training Programme works and get your questions answered by past recruits and coaches who support trainees on our programme. In a nutshell, you’ll earn a salary, gain a fully-funded international qualification, and benefit from in-school training with a comprehensive support network.

Our guest speaker is a past recruit who became the founding principal/headteacher of a school in Bolton. You'll also be able to ask a current trainee any questions that you have.
