Early Years Research Summary Report 2023
In 2021, we significantly revised the initial teacher training programme for primary and early years trainees.
In order to understand whether or not this had the intended outcome of improving trainee experience, we commissioned Dr Yaspia Salema to carry out research project, funded by Fidelity UK Foundation.
Along with co-researchers from the early years and primary programme, she devised a qualitative participatory approach to evaluate the experience of trainees on the programme.
This summary report highlights the key findings and identifies some of the changes made to the programme, or intended in the future, as a result of those findings. We hope it is useful for school leaders and teachers, as well as others working across the sector.
