Summer Institute is a unique five week intensive training period that marks the very start of your teaching journey on the Leadership Development Programme.

Join the Teach First regional and university teams, and others who’ll be teaching in the same region as you, at your Opening Ceremony.

Sort all your enrolment stuff out with the university - don't forget all your key documents and ID if you've been asked to bring them in your SI Guide.

Meet the individuals who’ll be supporting you throughout Summer Institute and beyond – including your Participant Development Lead and your University Tutor.

Explore the campus and figure out where your classroom, the gym, the local shops and the launderette are.

Learn some fundamental tricks of the trade, including how to use our digital platforms, what it’s like to work in a school, how to ensure children’s safety and how the programme is structured.

Find out your Summer Institute timetable which you'll be able to access through our SI App.

Ask the nearest person at least once 'what's the dress code for today'?! Be comfortable and smartly dressed and you won't go far wrong. Check your SI Guide on the Portal if you're unsure though.

Meet the other participants in your region. They'll be like-minded people who are in the same boat as you and you'll make friends that will stick with you for a long while to come.
