Change your future and the future of students

The UK is in desperate need of more maths teachers. There have been shortages since 2012, and even more severe shortages since 2016.

This situation affects some children worse than others. Our research shows that a child from a disadvantaged background is on average 18 months behind when they take their GCSEs.

If current shortages continue, then countless children will be denied the solid grounding in maths needed to help them get ahead in the workplace.

Statistic: a disadvantaged child is 18 months behind by the time they take their GCSEs

Could you be the teacher our students need?

Demand for qualified maths teachers continues to rise, while secondary school pupil numbers are expected to increase by 15% by 2025. This demand is not being met, and children in the poorest areas are not receiving the maths education they need.

Your maths knowledge could transform the futures of children who might otherwise enter the adult world without vital numeracy skills. By joining our Training Programme, you'll also transform your own future and you'll be supported every step of the way.

I wanted to be a maths teacher because I found it quite challenging at school. I used to get frustrated and just want to stop. There's quite a few [pupils] where I can see a little bit of myself in them, and I think 'just keep going.'
